PLANT BREEDERS UNION OF TURKEY HAS BEEN ARRANGING THEORETICAL AND APPLIED PLANT BREEDING COURSE.
Plant Breeding course is consist of two parts. During first two weeks theoretical lectures have given. During remaining 10 weeks practical in hand training courses have been carried out on different crops as participants requested. This year 16 participants have been joined the course. The course has been started in 2010 and this is the 8th years. We are hoping to open the course international participants on request.
The Plant Breeding Course of 2018 organized by the Sub-Union of Plant Breeders (BİSAB) was held on 5-17 February 2018 at Porto Bello Hotel / Antalya. After the opening speech of the course, Prof. Dr. Kayıhan Korkut (Namık Kemal University, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Field Crops) continued lecture "Introduction to Plant Breeding and Role of the Plant Breeding in Agriculture". During the first week of the course, the trainees were given basic information on Plant Breeding, Plant Physiology and Statistics.
During the second week of the course, the course continued in two separate classes, namely Field Crops Breeding and Vegetable Breeding. In this year's course, 37 professors from different faculties and research institutes have attended as a lecturer.
The second part of the course will continue for 77 days as a practical training in the Agricultural Research Institutes and Universities.
